AI Engineer, Developer Experience

Austin, Texas | Hybrid, three days a week in our Austin office | Full time

About the Role

The AI Engineer will extend ORC8R's support for AI assisted development workflows and apply machine learning to improve platform operations. This role spans the developer facing catalog of AI coding tools and internal platform automation.

Responsibilities

Improve how ORC8R packages, deploys and scales AI coding agents and related developer tooling
Design and prototype AI assisted platform features such as automated diagnostics and natural language configuration
Partner with the platform team to define resource, networking and security requirements for AI agent workloads
Track emerging developer usage patterns around AI coding tools and translate them into product improvements
Ship and evaluate features based on measurable impact

Basic Qualifications

Three or more years of software engineering experience, including hands on work building applications with large language models
Experience with agent frameworks, tool calling or developer facing AI features
Ability to work across product definition and implementation
Sound technical judgment about where AI genuinely improves a workflow versus where it does not
Based in or willing to relocate to Austin, Texas

Preferred Qualifications

Experience packaging or operating developer tools such as coding agents or CLIs at scale
Background in developer experience or platform engineering
Proficiency in Rust

Compensation and Benefits
