Senior Platform Engineer, Rust

The Senior Platform Engineer will design and build core components of ORC8R's control plane, including state replication, request handling and the provider protocol used to provision bare metal and virtual machine resources. This role owns technically demanding problems from design through production operation.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement features across the core control plane, including distributed state management and resource provisioning workflows
- Own projects end to end, from design and implementation through production deployment and operation
- Participate in code review and contribute to engineering standards across the team
- Diagnose and resolve issues that arise under production load
- Collaborate with engineering leadership on architectural decisions
Basic Qualifications
- Five or more years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience in Rust or a comparable systems programming language
- Experience with distributed systems, consensus protocols or replicated state
- Strong understanding of networking, concurrency and system level programming
- Demonstrated ability to deliver reliable, well tested software
- Based in or willing to relocate to Austin, Texas
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or operating infrastructure orchestration systems
- Familiarity with Raft or other consensus protocols
- Contributions to open source systems software
Compensation and Benefits
